Chrysanthos Gounaris
Chrysanthos returned to CASL to continue his research in the area of Mathematical Programming. His current interests include the efficient modeling and solution of a number of combinatorially complex problems, such as those arising in the areas of Transportation Optimization, Network Design, and Pathway Identification in Microporous Materials.
Before rejoining CASL, Chrysanthos worked as an Associate at McKinsey & Co. (2008-2010), where he consulted Pharmaceutical, Food and Petrochemical companies on a variety of projects of both operational and strategic nature.
In 2008, Chrysanthos received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University. His doctoral thesis was entitled "Advances in Global Optimization and the Rational Design of Shape Selective Separations," and was based on research conducted in CASL under the supervision of Prof. C.A. Floudas.
Chrysanthos also holds a Diploma in Chemical Engineering (2002), an M.Sc. in Process Control (2003), both from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, and an M.A. in Chemical Engineering (2005) from Princeton University.
