Yanjie Wei

Postdoctoral Associate yanjie@titan.princeton.edu

Yanjie got his B.S. degree in applied physics from Sichuan University, Chengdu, China, in 2004. Then in Agust 2004 he went to Michigan Tech University (Houghton, MI) pursuing his Ph.D. degree in physics. There he first worked as a teaching assistant and later worked as a research assistant in the area of protein folding under the guidance of Dr. Ulrich H.E. Hansmann. He focused his research on the study of side-chain and backbone ordering in polypeptides and successfully defended his thesis in 2007. After a short break in Chicago, he joined the CASL group in March 2008. Since then he has been working on membrane protein contact prediction, secondary structure prediction, beta-sheet topology prediction, residue contact prediction for globular proteins, and automation of protein tertiary structure prediction.
